Digital board game development

Your game,
with an opponent
worth playing.

We develop digital editions of tabletop games, with faithful rules, thoughtful interfaces, and strong AI opponents for solo play.

Let’s talk about your game

01 / The adaptation

Adapting your game for digital play.

A digital edition should preserve the decisions that make the original game compelling. We work from your rules and consider how best to present the game, explain its choices, and keep play moving on screen.

Accurate rules

We build and test the rules engine around the game’s interactions, including unusual combinations and edge cases. Where the rules leave room for interpretation, we work with you to settle the details. Every rule we implement has an automated test tied to the rulebook, and any game can be replayed move for move, so a reported problem can be reproduced exactly.

Strong solo play

We develop the AI alongside the rules engine. The aim is an opponent that can use the game’s strategic possibilities and remain interesting as players gain experience, with difficulty levels from a first game to expert play.

An interface made for the game

Players should be able to read the board, understand their options, and follow what happened each turn. We adapt the presentation for a screen while retaining the original game’s artwork and identity.

02 / AI development

AI built for your game.

We’re board game enthusiasts and machine learning practitioners with PhDs and nearly a decade of combined experience in AI roles at major technology companies. We’re applying that background to building strong AI opponents for digital board games.

Our development approach combines search and learning: exploring possible moves, evaluating positions, and improving through self-play. We want opponents that can recognise the combinations and longer-term plans that make your game rewarding to learn.

The AI plays by the same rules as a human player. When information is hidden, it must make decisions under that uncertainty too.

Our AI policy

How we use AI

Our opponents use game-playing AI. They learn by playing the game itself, not from anyone’s art or writing.

Nothing we make for a game is AI-generated. Art, animation, music, sound, voice, writing and translation are made by people or supplied by the publisher, and we never alter a publisher’s artwork with generative tools. Our work will never be the reason a game needs Steam’s AI content disclosure.

We do use AI tools to help write software.

03 / Working together

How a partnership starts.

We’re interested in hearing from creators and publishers considering a digital edition. An initial conversation helps us understand your game, what you want from an adaptation, and whether we’re the right development partner.

01 / CONVERSATION

Discuss the game

Share the rules, what players enjoy about the game, and your priorities for a digital edition. We’re happy to sign an NDA before you share anything unreleased.

02 / EXPLORATION

Evaluate the adaptation

We assess the rules implementation, interface, and AI requirements, then discuss scope, platforms, and development priorities.

03 / PARTNERSHIP

Agree on the partnership

Before production, we agree on licensing, responsibilities, scope, and commercial terms.
